“A grateful heart is a magnet for miracles.”
A little cheesy but oh so true! There is a stream of things that are yours. Gratitude has the power to bring them in faster. When you are thankful for something, you receive more of that. Think about it in terms that when you are thankful to someone and show them gratitude, they are more likely to want to help you. The universe is the exact same way. When you are in an energy of gratitude, you are “open” as I say. Open to receive. Things start going your way, you hear from a friend you haven’t heard from in a while, things shift, and they begin to shift for you. Even if it’s the smallest thing in your day- take a few seconds to dwell in that space and say “wow, that was super cool -- thank you.” I tend to drift off and think about those things, it’s become routine for me, but what has also become a routine is being given things to be thankful for. There’s no way that’s a coincidence. The two go hand-in-hand.
Gratitude begets gratitude.
I think gratitude also allows us to participate more in our life. We notice the positives more and it magnifies the pleasure you receive. Instead of just adapting to goodness, we begin to celebrate goodness. We become participants in our lives as opposed to spectators. As everything in life is a choice, a lifestyle of gratitude is the same way. It’s a choice you make. Since your brain might be wired to find things quickly other than gratitude, at first it could take a second for gratitude to become second nature. If focusing on gratitude isn’t a practice in your life already, I suggest you begin incorporating it more. I encourage you to find a notebook, any notebook you can find that works for you. Make that your gratitude notebook. You don’t have to write in it every day or even every week but I suggest at minimum, at least once a month, to check in and say – what is something that happened to me that made me stop and think, “that was really nice.” I’ll be honest with you; the moment you buy that notebook you’ve already invited a new energy in. So let it come. As you continue, your mind will become light and positive and so will your energy. That is the power of gratitude. Sometimes the simplest shift changes so much.
Ride the good vibe wave!
Many blessings!
